Swan River, November 18, 2017 – The Motor Vehicle Safety Association of Manitoba (MVSAM) is proud to announce that Swan River Key Chevrolet Buick GMC has achieved SAFE Work Certification.
SAFE Work Certification is Manitoba’s safety and health certification standard that helps make workplaces safer, and requires employers to take proactive steps to prevent workplace illness and injury.
“The standard that Swan River Key Chev had to reach in order to become certified is intensive. It isn’t easy to achieve. We know they put in a significant amount of work into putting the necessary programs in place. They have clearly embraced occupational health and safety and they care not only about their employees, but also every customer that comes into their dealership” said Mallory Corbett, Director of Safety at MVSAM.
In order to receive SAFE Work Certification, the organization must go through a series of safety focused training courses, employee interviews, and finally successfully complete an audit. The company is required to go through an annual audit to maintain their certification.
MVSAM was founded in 2015 as a collaborative effort between Safe Work Manitoba and the Manitoba Motor Dealers Association. Its main objective is to provide workplace health and safety services, safe work certification, and resources to Manitoba’s automotive industries through a dedicated and experienced team of safety professionals.
